Good Morning Monday!

Hey y'all!! It's Monday and I'm getting back in the swing of the workweek after spending a weekend in the great city of New Orleans.  I had lots of fun, took lots of pictures, and managed to get a couple posts and a video out.  My hair is still kicking too :)

I didn't do anything to my hair last night...just slept on my trusty satin pillowcase.  If you don't have one yet I would seriously consider picking one up...ASAP!!  Out of all of the hair tools/accessories I've purchased, this is probably the best purchase I've made since being natural.  My hair is SUPER soft, still is holding curl, isn't smushed, and I'm ready for the day!  This is a few days old twist out, done on dry hair so my hair is stretched pretty good.

This isn't meant to be a long drawn out post, I just wanted to say good morning :)  I am getting the Anita Grant rhassoul application video together, among other things, and I'll try to post that tonight or tomorrow.  I would also like to say THANK YOU to those who are new to my blog, as well as those who've been reading since I started.  My personal HAIRstory should be appearing on NaturallyCurly.com tomorrow and I've reached 200 likes on my Facebook page, so this is perfect timing for my very first GIVEAWAY!!  I will tell y'all it's a couple products that I use regularly and I really think you would enjoy them as well.  I will announce what it is tomorrow and how you can enter.

Oh and if you haven't already, please check out my YouTube page, LisaMsLisa.  Subscribe, rate and comment if you like, and as always I appreciate the support!  I just posted a video showing how easy it was to take my twists down from the Naptural85 twisting method.  I will definitely work on a video of me actually twisting my hair...I've gotten quite a few requests for that as well.

What are some other things you'd like to see on This Hair Of Mine?

Weekend Hair-do

Hey Naturals!! I did this video while in New Orleans for the weekend.  I tried the Naptural85 method again, this time on stretched hair with fantastic results AGAIN!! My hair was super soft and fluffy...I did not add any holding product to my hair so by the end of the night, including riding (and falling off) the bull in Bourbon Cowboy, walking the equivalent of 3 miles (or something like that lol!) Saturday night, and not going to sleep until 5ish in the AM, my hair had grown in size but it was still fly!  So peep the video, just a quick look at my twist takedown process, and let me know what you think :)

THE Twist Out

I may have posted a picture on the Facebook page, but I just found the video I made of it.  This style was achieved using Anita Grant's Creamy Cafe Latte (reviewed previously) and Naptural85's twisting method.  I can't wait to recreate this style...that will be a tutorial for another day :)  Don't forget to subscribe...it's FREE!! Enjoy!!

Happy Monday!!

This weekend was such a blur! I don't know why it always seems I can't get a quarter of things I needed to get done when I actually have the time...go figure right? I have literally pull everything out of my closet in the hopes of getting organized (#FAIL) and I've also gathered up my ingredients to make attempt to make some hair goodies (I'm thinking a pomade, a whipped butter, and a creamy lotion...ooh and an oil treatment!) and I'm putting in orders for more raw ingredients (as if I didn't have enough already...maybe I'll post a pic one day). I did place my order at Butters-N-Bars so that's one down...a couple more to go lol! I also got to hang out with my girls on Saturday and that's always fun!

A little pre-party webcam photo shoot

My week old twist out...I retwisted two pieces in the front and have them pinned back so they would be tight for the night ;)

Oh, lets see what else...YEA!!!  I got some FLY ear candy by Dope Crochet's own, my little sister from another mommy Ericka.  I'll post pics once I take my hair down.  AND The Naturally Curly Photo Shoot is coming up on SUNDAY!!  I'm super duper excited, got an email with the details today so now the question is how shall I wear my hair?  I think I'm definitely going to wear it in a twist out, but man I got prep work to do if I want it to look right...I mean I need it to be ON POINT!

Speaking of hair being on point,  the one thing I did get to do try on Sunday (in-between watching football GO TEXANS!!!) was try the Babassu Amla Shampoo Bar from Anita Grant.  This was my first experience with a shampoo bar and I'm impressed!  The lather was great and I was even able to finger detangle a bit.  It was late last night and I had to be at work super early so I just put it in three big twists and called it a night.  I'll have the video posted tomorrow :)

So I'm getting my YouTube up, LisaMsLisa, I got the Twitter up, BigHairBrwnEyes, I got the Facebook up, This Hair Of Mine.  I certainly appreciate your support, pretty please with sugar on top make sure to subscribe to my blog while you're here, leave feedback, comments or questions.  I really want this to be an interactive place for everybody who comes through.  And spread the word, there's nothing more beautiful than a natural head of hair.  Embrace it!! #MUAH!

Burning the Midnight Oil

....I've spent a majority of my evening working on my video skills so they don't look too bad (even though I am VERY much so a novice at all of it!)  I think I'm getting the hang of it, but y'all know I'm long winded...and I have a tendency to ramble, but it's all good information so I have a hard time cutting stuff out.  But I give my all and will get better as this entire blog has been a learning experience for me.  SEE! Ramble on, young sleepy Lisa, ramble on lol!  As this post is so aptly titled, I am burning the midnight oil, but I'm being productive!  I finished putting the dazzle on my dusting videos (yes, 2, because I am long winded and don't want to overwhelm anybody) but those I will post in about 6 or 7 hrs lol!  I was also multitasking, flipping through the great world of YouTube and came across another one of my favorite YouTube ladies, KinkyKurlyQueen, discussing how she separates & fluffs her braid outs.  How convenient of me to find this video since this is also what I was doing for the last few hours...multitasker extraordinaire!  This was something I was talking about in my previous video because my initial twist out was so tight (literally) that I couldn't wait to get my big hair back.  So instead of me making a video showing how I do it, check her out instead.  She's got great hair and a great technique, plus she's very down to earth and easy to follow.  Make sure you show her some love on her page as well, you may learn a thing or two while you're there ;)
